My ART4FREEDOM painting depicts two black women, even though they’ve done nothing wrong, trying to hide their faces from the police vehicle going by and in the background there’s a mural of the dead George Floyd Jr. (R.I.P) watching.
People man, you’d think we’d be more together after everything we’ve faced but here we are, defining people by the colour of their skin, creating stereotypes that the people affected have to struggle to escape. Love your neighbour as yourself though, can’t get easier than that. I don’t want to hide in plain sight, don’t want to try to blend in, don’t want to try to look unthreatening, I just want that elusive freedom. Black lives matter yo, IAM4FREEDOM! |
