My ART4FREEDOM highlights a social issue, which normally I never do but when it is about freedom, I realise that this is important enough to share it here. Furthermore, as a POC artist who also belongs to the LGBT community, I wanted to talk about my views pertaining to this topic, that the murder of George Floyd shows that racism and prejudice towards black people still does exist to this day and age! So let's come together in solidarity for freedom and the good cause, because this is not a fight between POC and whites. It's a fight between everyone and racists :] Freedom is for all and is inclusive of all races and sexualities, including our straight allies. However, there is a part of the LGBT community that faces harsher problems due to their ethnicity. I feel this year's pride month should be focused on empowering the black members of the LGBT community who already face hardships due to their race and added to further more hardships due to their sexual orientation. In many black countries, homosexuality can be punished by death and I feel we should focus more on the issues faced in black countries and in general, faced by black people, who belong to the LGBT community. And that's all I have to say. Be and feel free! :] IAM4FREEDOM!
