Why IAM4FREEDOM?: |
Drawing has been many things for me. It has been a way for me to cope with my struggles. It has allowed me to escape and visit faraway lands, where I am the both the author and participant of my own stories. I have been able to express how I feel in ways that my words were unable to do. It has given me lifelong friends, characters, that I will never forget and will always contain a part of me. It would be a dream come true for the opportunity to share these things with others and let the world see my art, a huge part of my life, a glimpse into my heart.

Introduction: |
James Arthur Ville (1988 - present) was born in Guadalajara, Mexico but grew up in the United States of America. His passion for illustrating began at 4 years of age. Watching television shows such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Dragon Ball Z inspired him to transition from pencil drawings to illustrating digitally. He spends most of his focus drawing for young adults and youth. From book covers to children's books, most of his work is done from home where he can be close to his four children in Southern Oregon.

ART4FREEDOM title: |
Adventures of Nadesh and Petra
|
ART4FREEDOM meaning: |
My ART4FREEDOM is about the importance of freedom and democracy. And how, even children, can grow up with this understanding. Follow along with orphaned siblings, Nadesh and Petra, as they make a new home in Big Tree Land after being kidnapped by pirates! A kind lady takes them into her home, a refuge for lost and orphaned children. Not everyone is happy with their arrival, but lucky for them most of the other kids took a vote and decided to let them stay. Nadesh and Petra discover what it means to live in a democracy, a place where not only everyone has to pitch in and do chores, but most importantly, everyone is equal. The Adventures of Nadesh and Petra teaches the 18 principles of democracy, building from one concept to the next where even a child can have a complete understanding of how a democracy works and how wonderful it is for everyone. This is my way of contributing to more awareness for freedom and democracy. IAM4FREEDOM!
