“As a black woman living in America, I’ve come to be a target of inequality. Yet, I know that this does not have to be a fact for the rest of my life. Creating art has been an expressive outlet for me since I was six years old. I have been able to use various mediums to share my life, thoughts and feelings. As I have gained knowledge, connections and values my art is finally at a point where I am proud to say “that piece is mine”. One of the most important things I have learned in life is that we all see the world differently. The best evidence to that is art work. I want to share my world with all types of individuals and show the value that is inside all of us."

My ART4FREEDOM is about being free to be the best version of yourself. I believe there is a light inside all of us that will brighten any darkness within. Yet, it is dimmed when we hide behind someone else's expectations. We then become trapped and weighed down, to the point where we forgot how bright we can be. To be free, I have learned to love all of me, for loving me is the greatest freedom I have. And as we respect and accept one another’s light, we can free and brighten this world. IAM4FREEDOM!
